NEW TO COACHING OR HAVE A QUESTION?

What is my role vs. the coach’s role?

A key to any good partnership is knowing who is responsible for what! You’re in the driver’s seat as the coachee, creating the topic for each session based on your overall objective(s). As we explore the topic, you will uncover and discover your next steps to make progress toward your goal. It’s up to you to make those action items happen. You are in charge of your success!

My role as a coach is to ask questions that expand awareness and potential, inspire thoughtful planning to achieve your objectives, and provide continued encouragement for you to complete the actions you set out to accomplish. I am here to guide and support you as you create the change you want to see!

What will coaching require of me?

More than anything else, a successful coaching relationship requires commitment. Not only will you need to commit to our regular meetings, but also commit to yourself and your own goals— prioritizing the work we outline in each session that you will work on between meetings. I’m committed to you. Will you commit to you, too?

I don’t know all of the details of my desired outcome, but I have an idea. Should I still consider coaching?

Yes! Growth can sometimes feel abstract, and some people get stuck when they feel they want to move into something new but don’t know exactly what that will look like. Don’t fall into this trap. You and I will work together to clarify your vision and define goals that reflect your values.

What is coaching and what is not coaching?

As a trained coach and a member of the International Coaching Federation (ICF), I honor their definition of coaching: Partnering with clients in a thought-provoking and creative process that inspires them to maximize their personal and professional potential.

To provide more clarity, coaching is not therapy. While therapy can be invaluable in uncovering the issues of the past to understand the present, my work as a coach is results- and future-oriented. Coaching is also an advice-free zone, it does not fall under the banner of mentoring, consulting, or training.

How long will I work with you?

This is up to you! Depending on your needs and the goals you’re working toward, we’ll design a custom coaching package for you, meeting weekly or biweekly.

How will we meet?

My practice is virtual, so our sessions will be conducted over a video call.

What is the ICF?

ICF stands for the International Coaching Federation, and is the global leader in setting standards for professional coaches. The ICF evaluates coach training programs for accreditation, reviews individual coaches for credentialing, and upholds members to the ICF Code of Ethics. You can learn more about the ICF here.

Is coaching confidential?

Yes. Our coaching sessions will be completely confidential, in alignment with the ICF Code of Ethics.

What can I expect from our first conversation?

Our first call will be focused on the discussion of your goals, specifics about how our coaching relationship will work, some practical details, and what the investment looks like for coaching.
